Staff Bios

Barbara Goldman

MA, CEO
Barbara's commitment to children with disabilities began when she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Childhood Education and Education of the Visually Impaired from Syracuse University. Barbara earned a Master of Arts in Education of the Visually Impaired from Teachers College, Columbia University. While teaching the visually impaired at a local school district, Barbara initiated a unique approach to teaching children with severe, multiple disabilities. Utilizing evidence-based practices, she launched a transdisciplinary program designed to improve outcomes for the district’s most challenged and complex children. The success of this program, was the impetus for her founding TEAMability in 2003. Barbara and her husband love traveling, both abroad and to visit their three children and two grandchildren.

Adele Giles

LMSW, MBA –COO, Clinic Administrator
Adele Giles has years of experience in healthcare administration, quality and compliance both in the for profit and not-for-profit worlds. Also a social worker, she brings a strong background in case management working with families and children in acute rehabilitation. After completing her undergraduate work at Kent State University, in Ohio, she immediately left the cold and headed south to San Antonio. As Adele says “You don’t have to shovel heat!” She obtained her Masters in Social Work at Our Lady of the Lake University and Masters of Business Administration at UTSA and is an Andeavor Leadership Fellow. Adele and her husband David Deering enjoy traveling, a good laugh and her work and his volunteering at TEAMability.

Mike Plummer

Chief Development and Marketing Officer
Michael grew up in a military family. He has been living in and been building relationships in San Antonio for over 20 years. With an "Attitude of Gratitude," he currently serves as the Chief Development and Marketing Officer for TEAMability. Michael uses his experience and knowledge to promote TEAMability's mission of giving individuals with disabilities opportunities to achieve their potential and experience the joy of success. He loves giving tours of our new state-of-the-art clinic. Stop by and say "Hi" anytime!

Jamie Jacobs

PT, MBA, MA, Lead Physical Therapist
Jamie grew up in Colorado City, a small town in western Texas. She knew from an early age she wanted to pursue a career in physical therapy. Shadowing at a rehabilitation center sparked Jamie's love for helping children and adults and adults with special needs. She received her physical therapy degree from Texas Woman’s University. Her continued passion for physical therapy led her to earn her Master of Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Health Services Management. Jamie strives to provide innovative practice with a servant's heart and thrives on the gratification of helping others and creating a bigger and brighter future for all patient’s and family members.

Madison Rivenburg

PT, DPT, Board Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist
In her role of Adjunct Professor at The University of the Incarnate Word, Madison is the Outpatient Clinical Coordinator for the UIW Pediatric Certified Specialist Residency Program at TEAMability. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of the Incarnate Word and is a Board Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist. Madison has always had a passion for working with children. While growing up in El Paso, a nurse told her, “there are not enough good physical therapists out there.” She decided then that she would be a physical therapist Madison loves seeing the joy even the smallest achievements bring to her patients and their families. Madison enjoys crafting, being outdoors and spending time with her family and friends. She and her husband Kyle have a one- year-old son and three frisky dogs.

Melinda Gomez

Physical Therapy Assistant
Melinda was born in Davao City, Philippines. She loves to travel and try new restaurants. A TEAM member for 10 years, Melinda believes in TEAMability's child focused approach. to helping all children achieve their potential. She says, "collaborating with the team feels like family. TEAMability serves as my inspiration and encouragement."

Jacque Trevino

M.S. CCC/SLP, Lead Speech Pathologist
Jacque brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to TEAMability. In her decade-plus tenure as a Speech Language Pathologist, she has worked in schools, clinics, home health, and local universities. Jacque's focus is providing alternative or augmentative communication for individuals with complex communication needs. Jacque's best asset is her unwavering ability to foster independence and a sense of belonging among her patients. An Adjunct Professor at Our Lady of the Lake University, Jacque developed and maintained an intensive AAC program. In addition, she served as instructor of the graduate level AAC class. Jacque she currently pursuing ATP certification. In her spare time, Jacque enjoys hiking with her husband, playing with her two young children, and spoiling her energetic Goldendoodle!

Mary Helen Martinez

M.S. CCC/SLP, Speech Pathologist
Mary Helen has 36 years experience working as a bilingual speech pathologist and has been a. She has worked in many different settings, including acute care; Early Childhood Intervention (ECI); and outpatient clinics and with many different types of disabilities; feeding, speech impairment, language development children on the autism on the spectrum. She has been married to her husband Ralph for 33 years and has two adult children. Mary Helen and her husband enjoy working together on his home business, hanging out with family, and taking walks with the four family dogs.

Jessica Degollado

SLPA, Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant
Jessica was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. She is a graduate of Texas A&M International University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders. Shortly after graduation, she moved to San Antonio and was eager to pursue her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant. She has experience working in multiple settings with diverse populations. She joined TEAMability in March 2021 and enjoys working with individuals who have complex communication needs. She is passionate about incorporating Augmentative and Alternative Communication. Jessica says, "I believe every individual is entitled to have access to communication and I am driven to help provide that opportunity for them."

Victoria Alejandro

OTR, Lead Occupational Therapist
"Tori” grew up in the small town of Sabinal, TX. She moved to San Antonio in 2013 to pursue a career as an occupational therapist. Always having a passion to help others, Tori wants to help children and adults do the things that are most meaningful to them and their families. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2015 and her master’s degree in occupational therapy from UT Health-San Antonio in 2019. In her words Tori, "strives to provide the utmost care and education to clients and their families to help them achieve their full potential."

Corina Moranz

OTR, OTD – Occupational Therapist
Corina was born in Topeka, Kansas but has lived in San Antonio for most of her life. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Texas A&M University (WHOOP!) and continued her education by earning her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from the University of Texas Health Science Center. Corina has always had a passion for caring for others and enjoys collaborating with her peers to promote a well-rounded and interdisciplinary approach to the care of her clients. She loves to learn and strives to provide the best care to the TEAMability clients and families. In her free time, Corina enjoys traveling, being crafty, and spending time with her family!

Karina Lopez

COTA, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
Karina Lopez grew up in Brownsville, TX moved to San Antonio in 2015 with the hopes of finding her niche. Karina has always known she wanted to work with children, but it was not until she became a caregiver to a child with special needs, that she knew she wanted to pursue a career in the field of occupational therapy. Karina earned her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology Exercise Science at the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2019 and soon after her certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from St. Catherine University. Karina has joined TEAMability in April 2022 and says she "walks in to work each day determined to make a difference for every patient and is confident that she has found the place where she belongs at TEAMability."

Bonnie Jensen-Dubois

MA, Cortical Visual Impairment Program Coordinator
Before joining TEAMability Bonnie was a special educator for 29 years. She graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a bachelor of science degree in Elementary Education and Special Education and earned a master’s degree from Texas State University in Visual Impairment. Bonnie is a Texas Tech Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist.  Bonnie is married and has two adult children and two young grandsons. Her focus and passion are directly related to her own experiences in raising a child with multiple needs. She appreciates having the opportunity to work with and support fellow families of the visually impaired. Coach Bonnie" has guided “The Individuals” bowling league for children with special needs for 23 years.

Clarissa Gonzalez

Front Office Coordinator
Clarissa, graduated from St. Mary’s University with a degree in marketing and is currently pursuing her MBA. She grew up in a very small border town in the Valley, came to San Antonio in 2012 and never left. Her hobbies include spinning, spending time with family and friends and other varied activities. During the week you can find her at the Front Desk with her colorful keyboard maintaining patient records, answering calls, and helping with anything else that is asked of her, unless it’s on a high shelf.

JoAnn Felan

Rehab Tech
Joann is a native San Antonian with 23 years of experience working with adults and children in the medical field. She also is an experienced wound care technician. JoAnn's energy and her ability to organize and implement tasks keep TEAMability's days running smoothly. Married to a military veteran, she has three children, and three grandchildren. JoAnn loves spending her time with family and is passionate about using her hands to make homemade crafts and restore furniture.

Victor Gardea

Rehab Tech
Born in San Antonio, but raised in Laredo, Victor returned to San Antonio after high school. He received an Associate Degree from ITT Tech in Computer Information Systems and ventured into multiple tech careers. Victor has been involved with the special needs community for many years. His vast knowledge and experience developed from his son who is diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Victor is a firm believer that being a stay-at-home dad for four years trained him for his life’s purpose—to help children with multiple disabilities. He was accepted into the St. Philip’s Physical Therapy Assistant Program and will become a licensed PTA. He wants to continue helping children like his son and share his experiences with other families. Victor is very happy to be able to assist the children of TEAMability with his patience and calm demeanor.

Araceli Castorena

COTA, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
Araceli was born in Los Angeles, California; however, considers San Antonio her home. She is very family and friend-oriented but enjoys meeting new people because she loves hearing other people’s stories and see their talents. In her spare time, Araceli always enjoys a good workout such as cycling or Pilates. Other hobbies include music, traveling, and giving a helping hand! One of Araceli’s favorite memories has been traveling throughout Europe to enjoy music festivals and engage in different cultures. On her list is to explore sites like Egypt, Turkey, Japan, Mexico, and many more. Araceli received her certification to be a COTA in the Fall of 2022 and feels blessed to be with a team such as TEAMability where above and beyond is only the limit to strive when reaching goals and collaborating to further benefit and receive the best outcome for individuals in need. That is why Araceli resonates with TEAMability as it's not only friends, it's family.
